Chapter 1 – Kidnapping Attempt

Three weeks after the New Years Day, it was business as usual in Goldenrod. The day went through just like the way it usually goes, until…

"You said Red is missing?" I remarked through the Pokégear with Green on the line.

"Yeah, he went out with Blue to the market yesterday and never came back," Green replied.

"Well, did you try to call their home or something?" I asked.

"I tried, but their parents and nobody in Pallet Town actually saw them at all…"

"How 'bout Yellow? You asked her yet?"

"She actually just walked in asking me where are they," he responded. "Now I'm starting to worry about them…"

I half-closed my eyes and thought for a moment. "What do you think had happened to them?" I asked.

"I have no clue, I'm going to look for them," said Green.

"Gotcha, good—" Green hung up the phone before I can finish my sentence. "Luck?" I frowned. Usually Green isn't this hasty, and I immediately thought something was up judging by his hastiness. All of a sudden I felt like something… no, someone sneaked into the room. I slowly stood up from my chair, and lightly walked to the middle of the office. The feeling was too familiar to me, even though I had only felt that once. But that once already proved disaster to us, and it's only going to stay memorable for a long shot.

I looked around and closed my eyes. Seconds later I reopened them, and found three ninja-dressed people, with three different colored masks on their face, and uniformed white hair, stood around me.

"I knew it was you three… Shadow Triad…"

"Bravo, Max, bravo, you can tell our presence even after two years."

"We have you surrounded, you are coming with us."

"You will not be harmed if you do what we said."

"Oh?" I put out a smirk, glaring at the red-masked ninja. "What if I say, 'No way in hell?'"

"Then…" All of a sudden the three made their move, in attempt to charge me. I jumped up, made a back flip, and landed on the floor with three Poké Balls on my hand. With a cross-handed throw, Edison, Brandon, and William came out from their Poké Ball and stood on battle position.

The three ninjas turned around and saw the battle stations. "Ah, haha! Seems like you have no idea the big picture here, my friend…"

"We shall show you…"

"…What are the consequences of setting against Team Plasma!"

They took out their Poké Balls and threw out their Pokémon. I face turned paled when the Pokémon they sent out were revealed: A Venusaur, a Typhlosion, and a Swampert.

"Saur… Explotaro… and Zuzu!?" I exclaimed. "So it was you…"

"It was our Lord Ghetsis's order…"

"To get ahold of the Japanese Pokédex Holders and their Pokémon…"

"For revenge of what you and that brat did!"

"Now… do you think you can fight your friend's Pokémon?"

Rage instantly filled my body. I started breathing heavily when I feel my head started heating up. I tightened my fist and pointed at the ninjas.

"Brandon, Blaze Kick; William, Psystrike; Edison, Drill Run!"

"Blast Burn/Hydro Cannon/Frenzy Plant!"

The Starters unleashed their Ultimate Moves at once before my Pokémon had a chance to attack. I rushed to Brandon and William, pulled their hands and pull them out of the way just split seconds before the combined attack hit them. Edison escaped barely, the four of us watched the attack went right through the window as a strong energy beam.

"You two alright?" I asked.

"(A little bit shaken up, but… yeah,)" Brandon replied.

"(Those bastards… unforgivable!)" William shouted through telepathy and materialized his signature psychic spoon. He blasted himself up with his psychic power and went straight for the starters. Before the ninjas can react, William already rushed right on the tired starters and sliced them with his spoon. "(Edison, Brandon, now!!)" he telepathied.

Brandon and Edison nodded. Brandon jumped up and used his Blaze Kick on Saur while Edison used Drill Run on both Explotaro and Zuzu, sending them propelled away onto the two walls on their opposite direction. I stood up as I saw the three massive Starters slammed against the wall. Zuzu even went through the wall and made a huge hole on it, leading it to the restroom next door.

"Useless Pokémon…" the red-masked ninja groaned.

"Whatever… at least we still have four people on hostage…"

"If you want to rescue them… make sure you come to Unova… yourself…"

The three ninjas vanished after that, leaving three Poké Balls on the ground. That's when I rushed to Saur with Edison while William and Brandon stayed with Zuzu and Explotaro.

"Are they going to be alright?" I asked toward William.

"(They seem to be under some sort of brainwash, but after the fight they should have their conscience back.)" William responded. "(I sliced them as lightly as I could just enough to wake them up while Edison and Brandon temporary faint them.)"

"Ugh… Natural was right, this time he's doing it for real…" I groaned while I rushed to get the first aid from my bag.

"(Oh, my head…)" Zuzu groaned, holding his head.

"(Where…are we…?)" Explotaro slowly opened his eyes while trying to stand up.

"(Max…? Is that you…?)" Saur slowly asked, struggling to open his eyes.

"Thank goodness, you guy's finally awake…" I sighed in relieve.

"(What happened?)" Brandon asked.

"(Those three men… They quickly knocked me out cold before I can react… I… saw them grabbed Gold…)" Explotaro slowly explained, still suffering from the pain. "(The next thing I know, we're here…)"

"(I tried to fought them off with Toro, but… I got knocked out, too…)" Zuzu added. "(Wait! Where's Ruby? Where's Sapphire?)"

"Apparently like they brought them all the way to Unova while they tried used you three to capture me," I explained, face down. "I really didn't want to hurt you guys, but…"

My Pokégear started ringing before I can finish my sentence. I picked it up with Sapphire on the line.

"Sapphire! Are you alright?" I asked immediately after I picked up the phone.

"Wait, how did you—"

"Hang on, someone else's coming in," I said while adding another line. "Crystal?"

"Max, we have a problem! Gold is—"

"Wait, wait, wait, we have another incoming!" I shouted while adding the fourth line. "Green, Red's not missing, you're with Sapphire and Crystal on other two lines now."

"What do you mean he's not missing?" Green questioned.

"Max, what in the world is going on?" Crystal asked, looked nervously and impatient.

"Green… Crystal... Sapphire… They are not just missing… They were kidnapped."

"What!?" Green screamed.

"Kidnapped!?" Crystal exclaimed in disbelieve.

"I knew it! But who are those guys anyway!?" Sapphire questioned.

"I'll explain to you later," I responded. "Now come look for me in Goldenrod City and I'll explain to you what happened. Crystal, grab Emerald and Silver. Green, get Yellow here, too. I'll call Dia, Pearl, and Platinum down here as well."

"Okay. But what if those men returns?" Sapphire asked in worry.

"They won't. They've done what they are here in Japan for," I said and hung up the phone. I rushed to the landline with the Pokégear on my hand and pressed the button.

"Have Mew standby in the airport right now for departure to Castelia City on flight plan. And send some paramedics to send some Pokémon here to the Pokémon Center, now! Also get someone up here to fix up the office."

I turned my head back to the Pokémon, let out a deep sigh, and closed my eyes. After a good 10 seconds, I reopened them and started dialing on the Pokégear.

"Hilbert, we have a problem. You are not going believe what just happened here…"
