March 5, 2011. At my house in Goldenrod City, I packed my traveling supplies into my bag. This travel will no longer be the same as my previous travels. Hong Kong S.A.R. is the hometown of both myself and my persona. The city itself, due to its special historical circumstances, can have its own Pokemon League that is not affiliated with Leagues from either British or Chinese. In other words, this city itself is indeed, a region which I called it "Hong Kong Region". :)

The 18-district orientation Hong Kong has in real world gives me a chance to design 17 gyms, one for each type, with a Pokemon League building location in the 18th district. Out of the 17 districts I divided them into 8 separate areas with Wan Chai District being left out for the location of the Pokemon League.

In my story-line this is the background of the Hong Kong League itself: It was established in 1976 after the success of the Pokemon League tournament in Kanto region a year earlier (the one Professor Oak became Champion on, check Volume 3). Initially has 8 Gyms in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, new Gyms were added in various areas in New Territories and the League had divided Hong Kong based on the map of District Council around 1997 after the Turnover.

In Hong Kong League, rules from Indigo Pokemon League generally applies in Hong Kong as well: Whoever has 8 badge can join the finals of the tournament, which is held every 3 years, without question. But the condition is that you'll have to have at least one badges from each district shown on the map to qualify. The 12th tournament, in fact, was being held earlier this year of 2012.

Max and Bosco's father, Vincent, was the Champion of the League from 1985-1991, and 1994-1997.

I originally wanted to use the basic format of routing and community dividing like the other region does. But since I know the entire city has way too much major settlements to be divided to, and the 18-district orientation gave me this idea of 17 gyms+league idea. Glad that you like it! :D
